Stacey Smith Hypnosis in Ithaca works with children, teens and adults, in person or online, and publishes its fees: $110 to $150 for 60 minutes and $155 to $180 for 90 minutes on a sliding scale, according to its website, which we read in October 2026. A second option for Ithaca clients, Lu Camy, now lists her in-person office in Manhattan and works with Ithaca and other clients online. The order below is not a ranking.

Stacey Smith Hypnosis

Stacey Smith Hypnosis describes several methods, among them suggestion therapy, regression and review therapy, mind-body integration, resource anchoring, the rewind technique, gestalt and guided imagery, and works with children, teens and adults on goals including sleep and weight. Over the first few visits, you learn about hypnosis and write your first suggestion script together. Sessions are in person or online; fees are $110 to $150 for 60 minutes and $155 to $180 for 90 minutes on a sliding, honor-system scale, and the practice asks for 48 hours’ notice to cancel or charges a $75 fee. Call (607) 589-8163.

If you are considering hypnosis for a child, keep the child’s pediatrician informed. If the concern is trauma, note that “regression and review” techniques bring up memory-like material that hypnosis does not verify; the age regression page for Manhattan explains why, and a licensed clinician is the right first step for trauma symptoms.

Lu Camy

Lu Camy is a clinically trained hypnotherapist who combines clinical hypnosis with shamanic practices, oracle work, intuitive guidance and art. Her site lists online and in-person sessions, with the in-person office at 151 West 30th Street in Manhattan, so Ithaca clients would work with her online. Email lucamy@lucamy.com.

Evidence and licensing

The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health reports evidence for gut-directed hypnotherapy in irritable bowel syndrome and growing evidence for some painful conditions, while studies on quitting smoking have had conflicting results (NCCIH). Hypnosis is not on the list of professions licensed by New York’s Office of the Professions (professions index); for an anxiety disorder, depression or trauma, see a licensed clinician, whose license you can confirm on the state’s verification search. Students can also start with their campus counseling service. If you are in crisis, call or text the 988 Lifeline at 988; in an emergency, call 911.
