Long Island Hypnotist Services
This page lists three Long Island hypnosis practices whose own websites gave their locations, phone numbers and services when we read them in October 2026: Wise Mind Hypnosis in Bethpage, Nassau County; JD Hypnosis, which lists offices in Woodbury, Farmingdale and Babylon; and Hearts in Harmony Hypnosis, with offices in Huntington and Levittown. Wise Mind and JD Hypnosis offer a free first conversation. They differ in format and scope: Wise Mind sessions are in person at one Bethpage office and are described as non-therapeutic coaching, while JD Hypnosis spreads across three towns, offers video sessions and lists a wider range of concerns. Wise Mind Hypnosis
Wise Mind Hypnosis is the practice of Donna Bloom, a board certified hypnotist, certified life coach and BWRT registered advanced practitioner, according to the site. Her services include hypnosis for anxiousness, worry, fear and unwanted habits, weight loss and emotional eating, sessions for teenagers dealing with the stress of school and social media, mental performance training for athletes, and lunch-and-learn workshops. The site states that sessions are offered live, in person at the Bethpage office, and that its services are “non-therapeutic motivational and meditative coaching,” not health care or psychotherapy. Hearts in Harmony Hypnosis
Hearts in Harmony Hypnosis is Kelly Tallaksen’s practice, with offices in Huntington and Levittown and sessions in person or on Zoom. Her site lists board certification and instructor status with the National Guild of Hypnotists, presidency of its Long Island chapter, the 5-PATH method, hypnosis for teens and children, and past life regression, and she describes her specialty as metaphysical hypnosis. JD Hypnosis
JD Hypnosis is run by a hypnotist certified with the National Guild of Hypnotists who cites 25 years of experience. The site lists offices at 7600 Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury, 81 Lawrence Street in Farmingdale and 157 Deer Park Avenue in Babylon, says video conferencing sessions are available, and offers a free consultation. Its list of sessions covers weight loss, smoking, stress, insomnia, chronic pain, self-esteem, confidence, motivation, fears, gambling, and anxiety, depression, trauma and OCD; for that last group in particular, read the section below on licensed care first. Licensed care and hypnosis
Hypnosis is not among the professions on New York’s Office of the Professions list (professions index). A PhD is an academic degree, not a license. If you are living with depression, trauma, OCD or an anxiety disorder, a licensed clinician such as a psychologist, licensed clinical social worker or licensed mental health counselor is the right first step, and you can check a New York license on the state’s verification search. If you are in crisis, call or text the 988 Lifeline at 988; in an emergency, call 911.
For goals outside clinical care, the evidence varies by goal. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health reports evidence for gut-directed hypnotherapy in irritable bowel syndrome and growing evidence that hypnosis may help with some painful conditions, and describes the research on quitting smoking as conflicting (NCCIH).
